I have a Samsung Digimax S1050 digital camera, everything was working fine until last weekend and now every time when I turn it on, the lens doesn't not extend all the way, so it can't focus. The lens extends about halfway and then sticks. BTW my camera is only a few months old, I got it from Buy.com through a discount deal available at dealrocker. I read somewhere that the most common reason for this problem is weak battery, but I recently replaced the batteries and it has full bars on the indicator. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance.
Removed the link and just replaced it with the site title, since that's all that's really needed. -Saknika

I don't really know much about point and shoot cameras, but it would seem that if it is just a few month old, it might still be under warranty. If not, I suspect that any sort of repair would be more expensive than replacing it.
Not sure how others will look at it, but you link seemed a little spammy.

I'm surprised that anybody is still selling this camera as a new model as it was released in 2007 and was replaced quite some time ago.
I think it would be better if a mod removed the link as it does look like spam.

I'd have to say one of the gears is out of place. This happened to our little point and shoot a few years ago, but this thing was also seven years old at the time it happened and had a lot of use. My dad got angry at it and shook it without knowing why it was sticking though, and we got lucky and it seemed to fix itself. It works well enough now, but I doubt shaking will work every time.
You're probably going to have to purchase a new camera if that one isn't still under warranty.
