I think all schools should adopt similar programs. More and more I hear from rescue workers about drunk drivers getting younger and younger, and our school recently lost a kid to it too. Article Here

You know I think there needs to be better education as well, but I also think the drinking age should be lowered to 18. I believe if it was legal it would lose it's excitement and people would stop doing dumb things...After I turned 21 drinking lost its excitement honestly when I can get it whenever I want...

I agree that it should be lowered to 18, but mostly because a young man can join the army at 18, but he can't enjoy a drink with his buddies. He's old enough to die for our country, but not drink? Just seems backwards to me. And it's true, without the excitement of breaking the law, it won't happen quite as much. That, and kids won't be afraid to call someone because they might get in trouble since they aren't 21.
But it definitely needs to start with education right now.

The drinking age here is 18 and it just means that teenagers start drinking even earlier than they do in the US. Expecting you to wait until 21 before legally having a drink is stupid though.

I knew kids who were 16 and getting wasted when I was in school. They don't wait. But at least at 16 they didn't have a license.

What age can you get a licence in the US? Here you can get one at 17 if you pass the test.

You get a permit at 16 in most states, some as early as 14. You can take the test after 6months and 20hrs of driving time, and if you pass, you then get a restricted license that says you can drive between the hours of 6am and 9pm unless for school or work (among other things), and at 18 you get your regular license that lifts the restrictions.

With ours you can take your test at 17 and you then get a full licence to allow you to drive in the UK. In fact, I think it will also allow you to drive anywhere in Europe too.
Insurance for young drivers is very high though.
