If you have have the chance to attend exhibits of the masters of photography, don't miss it.
I spent most of today at the Phoenix Art Museum immersed in the works of Ansel Adams. Literally 100's of prints that he made himself, not re-prints, originals from the master himself. I have seen his originals before, as many are housed in Tucson at the University of Arizona, but this was a huge exhibit.
It started with a lot of his very early work, including 2 images he took as a child, and then progressed though his life. It even included some of his almost never displayed color work. You could really see how a master actually changed his style though the years.
You really can become a better photographer by seeing a masters work firsthand.

I would love to see an exhibition of his original work.
I did buy a book of his B&W work called; Ansel Adams 400 Photographs. It was totally stunning and amazing. His composition and use of light is fantastic.

Man... I'd probably have to do some traveling to see anything like that. Unless it comes to Albany, I'm looking at a 3+ hour trip to get to any place that'd host such an event. But it certainly sounds like if I can manage it, it'd be worth it!
