I know it's not the best bet and I would probably have to pay to use my actual pictures for previewing, but would eBay be helpful at least in starting one's attempt for stock photography? I wasn't also sure where to put this, whether in here or in Marketing, but well, here you go. I was just looking up books on BAMM.com, and found one titled "Digital Photography for Dummies", All-In-One, and a recommended book was one for eBay.com, so... Got me wondering.

The answer is no. I don't even think that's allowed on Ebay, not to mention no one is going to look there for stock.

You really seem committed to getting into stock. If you go down anything but an online agency of some type, you are just asking for failure. Not only will no one ever be able to find your work, you will have to foot all the legal bills down the road. It might work for a world famous photographer, but us normal people would never be able to pull it off.
I have said this over and over, but sign up for somewhere like Istockphoto and go though the process of getting accepted by them. That is just the first start though, you will still have to work on getting photos accepted after you are accepted. You will get a lot of rejection at first, everyone does, but you will learn a lot.
