If you use tinypic.com for your image hosting, you might want to check out your board. A ton of my images were overwritten by someone else's and my forum was majorly screwed up to the point I had to take down a favorite part of my forum skin until I can fix it. I know I use tinypic to display photos here, so if any of my photos suddenly seem odd, you'll know why!

I could see that hapening with the way they generate their urls for their pictures. Your best bet is to use photobucket if you want to go the free route.

What about ImageShack? I use that for my photos while I use PhotoBucket for my graphics... I would probably "pile them into one" later on, though, but not on PhotoBucket. Their URLs don't show unless you hover over the pictures and it's annoyed the heck out of me.
I never liked TinyURLs... Tried them once, didn't work out so well for me. "Hotlinking not allowed". TurboImageHost and TinyURL are not good choices.

That's terrible Marian! I'm so sorry to hear that. Thankfully, I host all our images on a private domain, so we're good unless my host goes down.

Oh, that really sucks! Good luck getting it all back together again.
I've always used ImageShack too.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I avoid those all together. I use SmugMug for online galleries, but I don't link from there. I have my one server which I keep my blog and images on. All the images that I link to here are hosted on my own hardware.

My website/portfolio is all hosted on my domain, but my role playing forums that I run have most of the images hosted on tinypic. My Starfleet Captain's picture was replaced by a huge image of a white wall tire, and, on another one of my sites, my female sith lord's photo became some random image of a couple hugging.

Crazy! Thanks for letting us know. I've been using them not as a place to host, but just to get the pictures onto this forum. I'll look into the other sites now.
