Hey guys a quick response would be greatly appreciated on this one I found a local camera store and I'm pretty much in heaven because they have just about anything you could want there. I'm about to buy a D300s and they have 1 in stock but they say they go really fast when they have them. They got 2 in yesterday and one went within the first hour of them being open. They sell them for the factory price of $1699.99 (body only) with insurance I can buy for $45. Not too bad, but I looked online for better prices and this is what I came up with: Newegg: $1,449.99 J&R: $1,499.00 Walmart?!?!: $1,449.99 And moreSo the question is: is it safe to buy cameras online or should I go with the more expensive one that I can get in person at the store?

Online is safe so long as you know and trust the site, and can send it back if there is anything wrong with it. The reason it costs more at the store is because they're a smaller market (internet is huge) and they have a smaller supply with high demand. So really, it comes down to what you're most comfortable with, I'd think.

There are a few red flags when buying online. If the camera doesn't come with all of it's stuff, like the battery, run away. What will happen is that they will offer your a great price, and after you order, they contact you saying that you have to buy all the accessories that would normally come with the camera. They really jack the prices of those things way up, and will refuse to sell you the camera without them.
I actually buy a lot online. I am a huge fan of B&H, been buying from them for many years. Lately I have been getting more and more from Amazon.

Looks like I'm going to be getting a D300s, MB-D10 Battery Grip, and a 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II AF-S ED-IF Zoom-Nikkor Lens this week!
I'm getting the camera and grip from B&H and the lens from Cameta Camera (my friend works there)

Very nice. The 70-200 2.8 is a lens that I would love to have, but don't see getting anytime soon. A 24-70 2.8 will come first.

All right, so we all have Net's address as well right? And plane tickets? And one of us lucky people will "accidentally" bring the camera or lens home? LOL If only. You're going to have such nice printing quality Net, I'm jealous.
