My inexpensive tripod broke recently-go figure. So I want to upgrade to something solid that will last. But hopefully without spending $500. Any suggestions for a quality $100-$200 tripod? Thanks!

I personally love my Induro tripod, and while durable they're not that expensive. I looked up one for you, in case you're interested. www.adorama.com/INDAP0.html The site has more if you want to look around. That should be good for your needs though.

Don't skimp on a tripod. Buy used, there are some great deals out there. I like Manfroto/Bogen. You can get very heavy duty Bogen heads for a good price used also. If you buy a high end tripod and head, it will last a lifetime.

I got a pretty cheap one and it's working pretty well, even though it was only about $30 or so? Yeah it's cheap but it works well. In my opinion, you don't need to splurge to find something of quality.

I picked up some used Manfrotto 90QC legs off eBay and put a 804CR2 three-way head on top. I think it was about $120 for the whole kit but I wouldn't trust my camera on anything less than what I have. On the other hand, I paid nearly $80 for a bloody Manfrotto 681 monopod out of necessity. Wasn't too happy about that.

I recently bought a tripod for $10 from Big Lots. It extends to around five feet but didn't come with a manual, so I don't understand how to use it at times. Grr.
