ArticleSo Nikon released the AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED and the AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR. Both make me want them very badly. I mean, no aberrations almost on the 24mm!? THAT'S INSANE! And godly. Oh so very godly. <3 Unfortunately, there is no way my wallet can afford either anytime soon. :C But they're an exciting prospect to save for, definitely!

I have seen some sample shots from both, they look amazing. I am far more interested in upgrading to a full frame body before new glass though.

I can definitely understand those feelings! Man, someone needs to win the lottery and share the wealth.

On a serious note though, I certainly see the appeal of the 24mm 1.4 lens. I don't quite get the need for the 16-35 f4 lens though, unless they are just trying to give people a medium prices wide zoom. Nikon already has an amazing 14-24 2.8 lens that is considered a gold standard lens.

You're probably right about the zoom. Nikon probably wants something that appeals to everyone. That, and there are some people out there who need to have every type of lens they can get their hand on, so they might figure the more variety they have, the better they can do in the camera-brand-choice wars.
