This week's theme is: Oriental
This week the prompt is a cultural idea. How can you use it in a photograph? When you hear this word, what comes to mind?
Some Ideas: -Japanese Culture -Chinese Culture -Westernized ideas about them
You don't have to use those ideas, those are simply to help any who may be struggling with this theme.
Please also feel free to ask any and all questions here, and discuss the entries. However, please do not quote the images.
THE WINNER Congratulations to Lauren MKS! Of the two entries, her's had that subtle, conceptual feel to it. And as this is a bit more difficult area to be creative in, it only seemed fitting that she have the honor of being selected for the Weekly Theme winner this time around. Good luck to everyone in the next theme!

Would Native American culture work, too? =p, sorry, I'm not all too familiar with the definition of oriental, lol.

Native Americans, while thought to be descended from the same people as the Japanese (and there is more and more evidence to this claim), are an entirely different culture than an oriental one.
Oriental generally speaks about Asians. So Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, and Malaysia. But mostly Japan and China, because those are the two that people know best.

I'm new around here, and somewhat new to forums in general. Thought I'd take a swing at this week's theme. I don't have much to shoot in the way of oriental, but this is a money tree (fake) that I arranged in the shape of a heart.

Very nice! I dig the contrast.
And no worries, there are plenty of people who can help you out around here if you need it. C:

Is it a photo of a woodblock print or a shirt?
