So I joined that website. I saw it up in the adverts last night, and it was offering a free PDF version of a catalogue. So I tried to get it, but unfortunately, my computer decided to play dumb with me, grr. Are online classes better than personal classes, though? Just wondering. I've also started reading up on photography tips, hints, and been trying to find lessons over the 'net that I could read for free and not have to pay a whooping 1000 bucks just for one of them. A website I've been looking at is this; www.photographytips.comHopefully they can be very helpful...

If by NYIP you mean the New York Institute of Photography, then yes, I've heard of it. Personally, when it comes to art I don't recommend online classes. And, if you do choose online classes, you have to have the self discipline to keep studying on time, and you also must have a reliable connection because there are still online seminars that are for class.
As for online tips--there are plenty of free tips and guides out there on the internet. Everyone here has been sharing tips with you, to start. And you have plenty of guides on sites like DeviantART and the likes.

I don't see how you could take a photography class, or any class that involves learning how to "see", and do it only online. Much of photography is watching how light affects an object. Sure, you can learn all the terminology, and end up with a degree, but, in the end, did you REALLY learn photography.

I didn't know that DA had guides. I would read them up but our connection doesn't work wonders for us at the moment, nor could I read them on the PS3, as it doesn't load the website properly. I do use the PS3 to look for tips, though, and I'm actually going to start keeping track of websites that would help me out, such as here. Of course, if I experimented plenty, I would learn more. Pretty soon, I will experiment again, but it would have to be from home. The car's going to cost me a leg and arm to fix it so I can't exactly travel.
I've learned from Conway Photo Shop that I didn't need to go to college to do photography, or be a professional at it, but it could help me out. Hmm. I'm going to consider Phototique my online college, lol!
