Thank you very much. I have had a great day with some very nice gifts. A polaroid Pogo ~ not tried it yet - still charging it up. Two books on Digital Photography by Scot Kelby Volumes 1 & 2 ~ I will recommend them if they are any good. A memory card holder/container. I have been lurking around but just not logged in ~ I have been researching what DSLR I want; I made a list of criteria that the camera was to have (came up with 18 in total) and then read review after review and watched video reviews until I had a short list and then reviewed them all again. It has taken me over 3 months to finaly find the camera I want ~ can't afford it but I want it lol. After seeing and reading the reviews I feel like I have my hands tied behind my back and asked to type with my toes compared to the point and shoot I have lol; and feel totaly inadequate. Perhaps when the weather here starts to be a little kinder I can venture out and lick my wounds . Here are the two main sites I used for my research and both links review the camera I want, the Conon EOS 7D: - www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon_EOS_7D/video_review.shtmlwww.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos7d/I will be visiting more even if I do not have anything to post image wise. Oh one more thing ~ I lost all of my photos taken over the last 3 years; I installed Linux ubuntu and it deleted my partitions even though I instructed it not to. I tried several different recovery programs but no luck at all. I do still have the ones posted to my photo sites and wish that I had posted everything to them now or transfered them to my esata exernal drive.

Happy birthday! I'm sorry you lost all of your photos. =[ That reminds me that I should back up my own.

I've heard good things about the 7D. Good luck on obtaining it! And it sounds like you acquired a lot of good things for your birthday! I'm sorry to hear about the photo loss though, that really sucks. D: I don't use Linux at all, so I can't help you. My friend's family uses it though, so I'll pester him with some questions and maybe he'll have a solution you haven't tried yet.
