I don't know but for a few years I would have a rapid heartbeat out of nowhere. I know of my family having heart issues but I don't know what to do. I was just sitting here, and then my heart starts beating fast for no reason. Is that healthy?

Probably not...I would honestly get that checked out.

Yeah, sounds like you could need meds of some sort.

I've tried getting a physical, but I owe the doctor money. Then I tried the hospital and they told me if I wanted a check-up to see my doctor. Irony.

Hmm. I have a similar thing I think. Sometimes my heart palpitates for no reason and I usually have to take a few deep breaths to get it to settle down.
Though it is something you SHOULD talk to a doctor about, ultimately our bodies aren't perfect.

There are tons of things that can cause a rapid heart rate, including, but not limited to hyperthyroidism, anxiety attacks, misfiring of the electrical areas in the heart, a pulmonary embolism and much more. Caffeine is also a big culprit. Some kids are actually dying from consuming too many energy drinks. If you are worried about it, get it checked out. Even if you owe money, an ER is not going to turn you away for anything remotely heart related. Also, it's never good to ask for medical advice on the internet.
