The end of 2009 has come and gone, and as such so have our December activities on Phototique. We didn’t see as much activity as in past months, but the holidays are over now, so I hope we see an increase in the coming weeks.
To start, I’d like to say I was sad to see no photos in the Community Practice on Photojournalism, and as such I’ve knocked it back to another of the basics of photography, in hopes that maybe the simplicity will attract people more. Rather than put up a blank block for another month in the Showcase though, I stuck my example image in there and defaulted it back onto myself. This is in hopes that it will make us seem like a much more active forum, and the imagery will attract more new members. I sincerely hope that I don’t have to do this a second month in a row though, since I want to feature you guys far more than myself.
A big congratulations goes out to ScottWood who was awarded the winner of the Seasons contest with a very outside-the-box creative entry, and the staff also decided on him as the person with the Photo of the Month! Well done on this Scott, you definitely deserved it. You came back to us with some excellent imagery, and we’re always glad to see it.
The Weekly Themes were, well, weak this month. Two of them ran for two weeks instead of one, and only one gave birth to fruition of photos. Congrats to Marian for taking the photo that was honoured as the winner, and I hope to see more work in the coming weeks from everyone.
For 2009 we are working on getting a domain at which to hold a directory of books that you would and would not recommend to your fellow photographer. Something like this would simply be too big for a thread here on the forum, and so we will host it online. Member input is greatly desired, and so I hope to see plenty from everyone.

With the website, we’d also like to set up a wonderful project of sorts. For more information on that, and to please leave us some input, I direct you to the specific thread.
