Let's hear some feedback! Artemis and I have been working on this for a bit now, and we both think this could be a lot of fun, and help get everyone some good exposure. If you have questions, just ask, since I know sometimes the way I write can be a bit confusing.
Idea Summary
This would be a place to host a gallery of projects we can do as a whole forum over a span of two to four months per project, and it in turn would help generate more interest in our forum community while promoting the talents of our members.
Choosing a project
To choose a project, we would allot a two week period on the forum for everyone to chip in an idea or two on what they think would be fun to base a project around. Something like flowers, or glass, ect. Kind of like the Weekly Themes, only far more structured and lengthy.
After a pool of suggestions have been sent in, one week would be spent with a poll up for all members to vote in, so that we can choose the one that the community would like to do.
Once that’s decided, we will spend two to four months (predetermined) preparing one to three photos each for the project.
Eventually, the ideas and voting will take place near the end of the current project.
Submitting Images
To submit images, we will have a board just for the projects. There will be a specific thread for submitting images, and they go there. There will be two sections, one for critiquing an image before submission in case you want to tweak it with advice, and then the actual submission area. Once an image is submitted, you are saying it is complete.
This board would be hidden from non-members, just like Critique.
Copyrighting Images
The images will be copyrighted with the name you want to be known by. If you aren’t comfortable with your real name, that’s fine, but it is recommended for those who want to pursue photography as more than a career. However, whatever you choose to be known by is going to be permanent unless you’re going from real name to pseudonym or vise-versa. This is because of the Member Galleries part of Website Content.
The Gallery
The galleries of these images will be put up on a website for everyone to see at the end of each project.
The Website Contents: Blog
There will be a blog on the website to track our progress, and give little teasers of the imagery we’re creating. It will help to generate interest in the projects and gain exposure for all who are involved.
The Website Contents: Member Galleries
Any member who participates in the projects will have the option to be included in a section just for listing out social networking places; galleries, facebook fan pages, twitters, ect. You will be listed by your copyright name on the images you submit to projects.
The Website Contents: Recommended Sites
We’ll have a list of good sites that members recommend for each other, with an average rating next to each. This will be a good resource for everyone who is looking for specific equipment and the likes.
The Website Contents: Showcase
The Showcase would be featured on the website as well to give the members lucky enough to make it in some extra exposure, and as an added link-back to the forum to promote our community that much more.
