This is just a short survey that I want to send throughout the members. I created this site based off of what I had seen/experienced on other forums, and on what I had learned in college. However, it is you, the members, who use this forum every day. So I want to know what you think about the forum. This survey is open to staff as well. You may post it here, or PM it to me if you'd rather keep it private. Please DO NOT respond to other surveys here. No response will be given to these, however based on responses some changes might be tried out. Feel free to write me a book if you want, too. No limit except Proboards' post length. So, without further ado, here's the survey! 1. What was your first impression of the forum? Why did you join?2. What do you feel are the most effective guidelines on the forum? Why?3. What guidelines do you feel are a detriment to the forum? Why?4. How do you feel about the staff here?5. How do you feel about the showcase?6. What do you like best about the forum? Why?7. What do you like least about the forum? Why?8. Do you feel this forum is lacking in anything? If so, what?9. Any further comments?

1. What was your first impression of the forum? Why did you join? The top area, showing photo of the month, contest winners, etc,. showed that this site is active and tries to do things that promote learning. 2. What do you feel are the most effective guidelines on the forum? Why? No answer 3. What guidelines do you feel are a detriment to the forum? Why? Posting restrictions, requiring a post for a post. This turns people off. I know the reasoning behind it, but I have never found a successful forum that uses it. I've seen some try, and fail miserably. 4. How do you feel about the staff here? Polite. 5. How do you feel about the showcase? Love it. 6. What do you like best about the forum? Why? The pleasing colors. 7. What do you like least about the forum? Why? Lack of boards on the first page. As I've stated before, the digital darkroom should be a main board. Subboards on photo sites hardly ever work. The photos in them get lost. People will go in the main board, look around, then go out, not realizing there is more in the subboard. 8. Do you feel this forum is lacking in anything? If so, what? Need more boards. Separate the topics. HDR, Black and White, Nature/Wildlife, Snapshots, Landscape, etc. 9. Any further comments? Nope.

Thanks Marian! I've pulled out the Digital Darkroom to give it a shot, and I'm tossing around altering the guideline you're talking about, to see if maybe there isn't a happy medium. I'm really glad that you love the Showcase and the colours though! They are my pride and joy. <3

In the cases of no photo submissions for the showcase, perhaps instead of a blank image, you put something like "yours could have been here! Join today!" Also, you have a link on the main page to "Photograph Specialties". It would be nice in that thread to have a list of all of the members and their specialties. When I clicked the link, that's what I thought I was going to get. As a side note, to add to my survey comments above, I don't think I will ever add a photo to the Contests because most of what I do is photo manipulation. Too sad.
