Yeah, no, not photography. Photoshop should only be used to edit using tools that are used in the darkroom. Dodging, burning, colour/tonal correction.

The addition of these advanced algorithms will make it too easy for amateurs to use photo shop. Photo shop use to be a test of your knowledge about each feature and knowing exactly what you want. I feel like it's becoming more of a play tool than an editor. The improvement with the seam carving is nice but I can do without the added features. I'm still going to upgrade to CS5, because it'll be 64-bit [Cocoa code] on a Mac, where as CS4 was 32b [Carbon] only. 64b was only available for Windows.

I will own that, if only to make retouching that much easier. And for when I have those urges to design. That is amazing!

A welcome addition for photo repairs side of Photoshop and general fun with image manipulation.
I could not agree more.

Thankfully, most amateurs can't afford it. And somehow, I don't think it will work quite as easily as they show in the video.

Little do people know with a proper student ID they can buy it for about 80% off. Education Discount FTW! LR2 was 50% off.

But, no matter what, Photoshop can't fix a bad artistic eye, and rarely can it make a really craptastic photo look amazing. It normally just looks over-worked.
