www.indexhibit.org/I'm just testing it out now but for those looking for a great gallery app, this looks fairly promising.

It seems both very interesting and very confusing to me. How is it different from just using HTML or Flash? I tried to view the online demo, but it's asking for a username and password that I don't have. :-\

I'm not sure what the deal is with their demo page but check out the various sites using the software to get a feel for the front-end feel.

I did. It's kind of annoying, at least to me. I feel like it's not very organized, and that you can do the same thing with HTML. The organization could be poor labels though.

To much messing about for my liking and 'PHP~grrrrr', not looked to deeply into it but it looks like it will be using up the bandwidth mainly on the server the root folder is on and displaying the site using their format ~ a leach site sucking bandwidth from the origine and preserving their own in the process.

Use this link to find various online demos, it appears that first link was to the Admin CP. Nevermind, I am now able to visit the Online Demo link without having to "sign in." Perhaps the first link above aided in skipping that step? Once in you can create your own gallery, basically. it looks like it will be using up the bandwidth mainly on the server the root folder is on and displaying the site using their format ~ a leach site sucking bandwidth from the origine and preserving their own in the process. I beg to differ. It doesn't appear that way at all. There is a download menu and not a sign-up menu. On any of the site demos, the pictures and links point back to the original domain, not indexhibit.org.

If they point back to the original domain then all inexhibit is doing is leaching the info from the original server drawing bandwidth from it and making itself look like it is storing all of the info from their own server.

Everything is completely hosted on your servers. The only link-back the software has is the "powered by Indexibit" link that is required by the GNU GPL license and put there out of courtesy for the creators. The overall look of the software is because that's how the software is designed to look. You can customise it to your liking if you know what you are doing.

Right, so it's just an app that you install on your website server root folder for design purposes etc. Did'nt pay to much attention as I stated ~ just did not float my boat to make me look far enough.

Thanks for the links Comic. Doesn't look like anything I would want to use though. It's a little more clunky than my own system, at least for me.
