So we're finally starting to get a pretty good amount of members on the forum, and as such we're going to need more moderators.
I want to let it be known right from the get-go though, that I'm only looking for moderators, and not global moderators or administrators. Moderators who I feel are doing their job well will have the chance to move up to global moderators.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask in this thread.
So! How do you become a moderator?
The first thing, and most important criteria, is that you have to be active. I can understand if you can't visit every day, but at least three times a week is necessary. And by active, I don't just mean visiting and leaving, I mean making posts. So if you were interested in moderating the chatterbox, for example, you'd be a good thread starter in there, and love to chat with people. Someone who were interested in the camera dojo would know a lot of the basics, ect.
Right now, I'm only looking for specific sections, which are listed below.
The second part to getting a shot at being a moderator, is to express your interest to me via PM. That way I will know where to watch for you. I'd also like for you to write a short paragraph or two explaining to me why you'd make a good moderator.
I will ignore any requests to be moderator that are posted in this thread.
This offer will close eventually, though the end date is unknown as of right now. So just let me know if that's something you're interested in. You don't necessarily have to be an expert at photography to moderate some of these boards.
Let me explain now what I look for from a moderator in each board that I'd like one for, so you can tell if you'd be qualified. Understanding the rules of the respective board should be a given. I'd also like for you to be able to promote activity in your given board as well.
You may ask to be a moderator of more than one board if you'd like. I do, however, reserve the right to deny you one or all positions, depending on how well I feel you're qualified for what you're asking. Remember, this is going to be a big responsibility.
So, here we go:
Introductions- Capable of being an excellent greeter, and genuinely curious about our new members. Must greet everyone, or close to.
Chatterbox- Good at starting threads, and promoting community conversation.
Camera Dojo- Need to understand the basics of photography, or be wise to what's going on in the industry.
Critique- Able to comment on every thread posted, and give constructive feedback. We currently have ComicIDIOT, but the more the merrier. Alternatively, you can just take the Digital Darkroom if you have a fantastic knowledge of photo-manipulation.
Programs- Have an excellent knowledge of how programs work, and be able to give advice and support on them.
Equipment- Must have a working knowledge of photographic equipment of all sorts, and be able to guide people in a good direction regarding it.
Marketing and Promotion- You must really understand the world of marketing. Things like Google Adwords, promotional products, and signage should be well-known to you.
