I consider my computer a part of my equipment, and with the new Mac Operating System, Snow Leopard, coming out this Friday (8/28) my "equipment" will be getting a boost. The OS is going from 32-bit with 64-bit support to full 64-bit support which will mean CS3 & LR2 will run faster, as well as backwards compatibility with the 32-bit applications I do use, such as DSLR Remote Server. And 98% of all the Mac Applications have been rewritten in 64-bit Cocoa code. I can even share files across my local area network (LAN) while my computer is asleep, a break through for Bonjour technology, a great advancement in energy saving and a useful tool for sharing my work across my household.
And my work will be even more secure because a 64-bit operating system will create & crunch/process longer strings of data than the most hackers care to deal with.
All this power & security for just 28$ is something magnificent.
What operating system do you guys use?

I'm a windows user. On my laptop it's XP, and on my work computer it's 64bit Vista. Both serve me well, though I really don't care that much for Vista. I'll probably upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out, depending on what it looks like.

Windows Seven is bomb. I used Seven back when I got into the Seven Beta. I've never, thoroughly, used Vista so I can't compare the two but I would definitely buy Seven Ultimate when it launched if it wasn't going to be 320$.

My friend told me to upgrade to Windows 7, but I would probably wait until I could get a new computer. Our computer runs on Windows Vista but apparently it's corrupted.

If your operating system is corrupted, it might be a good time to make the move to 7, if your hardware is up to the task.

Yeah, we are going to have someone do the restore once we get DSL. We don't know if it's the system or just the connection.
