In the closet. Two of them, not any top of the line models, but they are some pretty good-looking cameras.
Does anyone here still use film cameras? If so, why? What appeals to you over digital, and if you use both, or even prefer one over the other, why did you make that choice?
I'm considering saving them, though I'm not sure what I would save them for. >.>

When I shot with B&W back in HS, I felt like I was my own photoshop. I had this RAW file (a negative) infront of me in the Darkroom that was open to my manipulation. The awesome thing about film and darkroom is that no one can say "Oh, that's photoshopped."
If I had the resources to still shoot film I'd be doing it. But setting up a darkroom isn't practical so I am limited to when I can take the classes.
What cameras did you find?

I still have my film SLR. I actually will be building a b+w darkroom in my basement eventually. Just need the time and the money, since we already have the space picked out.

I have an old Canon SLR and an Holga. I've been shooting a lot more with the Holga and love the aesthetic of 120 film.

120 film is nice, but the Holgas are what make those photos unique. Definitely some interesting effects come out of them.

A classmate shoots with a Hassleblad, a Seagull and sometimes a Holga all - if not most - are 120. He loves his HB, though. One of my other classmates bought a pink holga while here but I don't think she's going to shoot with it +/ I still have my film SLR. I actually will be building a b+w darkroom in my basement eventually. Just need the time and the money, since we already have the space picked out. I'll come live with you then.

old film cameras give you the pride of knowing that you took a photo that needed no touch-up post clicking that button. with photoshop its almost impossible to take a bad photo really, and that to me takes out the fun of taking photos, cause photos are supposed to capture real life moments and not moments that are run through adobe's eye....
