This contest is very open to well… anything. The most important thing for this contest, is that your photo means something to you. Not just anything though, something important. It has to reflect on one of your values.
Perhaps you feel that we’re not doing enough for the homeless. Street photography of a homeless person would be a good choice then.
Or, maybe you feel that God is a big part of your life, and that’s what empowers you. A church, bible, or other such things would be good subjects.
Maybe you’re very family oriented. Photographing something that deals with that would be what you need to do then.
Shoot It Like You Mean It. SILYMI.
Make a list of what’s important to you, and then decide on which one you’re going to capture with your camera and share with us. Use lighting and composition to make the impact that much greater. Make us understand your meaning behind the photo. Make us think.
Submissions:
To submit a photo to the contest, please PM it to me (Saknika), and I will keep track of it. You may not change your entry once submitted, so make sure it’s exactly what you want.
After the deadline has passed, the photos will be put up for vote by the members. In the event of a tie, a vote off will be held between those particular images.
Staff may enter the contest.
Rules:
-The photo must be your own work
-You may submit a single image only.
-The photo must not have appeared anywhere else on this forum before.
-Minor photographic retouching is allowed, heavy manipulation is not. Panorama stitching is all right.
-One entry per person.
Deadline: February 20th 2010 at 11:59pm EST (that’s GMT -5. In California, or PST, it’d be 8:59pm, and in England it’d be 4:59am)
Prize: Soon we’ll be getting into bigger prizes, but for now you will be featured in the Showcase for a month, and you will win 50 forum points.
