What do you consider to be the basics of getting your name out there as a photographer?
Personally, I feel the two biggest things are having business cards, and having a website. In this day and age, having a website seems to be key since (almost) everyone browses the web, so it's a great way to showcase your best work, and spread the word. Business cards are still good to carry though, since they're professional looking, and are easy to hand out to potential clients of all sorts.

I believe a website with a bit of money invested into ads helps a lot. Why ads? Because that way you get your website name out there on forums like this. I feel the two biggest things are having business cards, and having a website. A website that makes you look unique, complete with examples and experience. This is the digital age, and people want to see what makes you better than everyone who can point a camera and upload to Flickr. Advertising is key, whether it's by business card or Google ads, something that reaches a wide audience of the people you want to see on your site, so it's essential that you do some searching. Ads won't reach everyone, you have to do a bit of the talking yourself.
