This is an image I tried to process the day after visiting Skysong but failed terribly. I think I posted that nighttime HDR is REALLY hard. I stand by that, but thanks to Trey Ratcliff over at Stuck In Customs, I have learned a few tricks that really help. It has everything to do with merging one of your RAW images back into the mix in Photoshop.

Artistically or is the link in not working?

It appears as a broken image, but if you right click on it, click "copy image location"/"copy image URL" then paste it into a new window/tab, it will work. Not sure why it shows as broken here, but it works in another window.
That said, I think I like the other one (which is photo of the month) better, but I still really like this one as well. I'm kind of a sucker for night shots (even though I'm terrible at them myself). I just love the colors and all that. Plus the structure is pretty fabulous. It kind of reminds me of a circus tent on speed... which is totally awesome.

Hmmm, that is odd. I will check into the link when I get home tonight. I have an idea of what is going wrong, but can't do anything with it at work.

As for the image, I agree, I like the other one a lot better. This one was made more for testing the things I have been learning over on Stuck In Customs.

I like it better when the ground is much darker.

Thanks Esperanza for that tip. I thought it was just a word on my screen. xD
Even though more of the image is exposed where you can see it more clearly in this version, I still prefer the one that was selected for the POTM. I just feel that all those dark areas really pop the colors out and give it a charming feeling, which this version looses because so much is exposed. In fact, I'd almost say this version feels a bit flat.
