Hi everyone, I've been a regular visitor for a few weeks now and I like what I see, so I thought it about time I joined . Been digital now for about 6 years, starting with a fuji finepix 4900zoom now owning a nikon d40x with the 18-55 kit lens and the 55-200 vr zoom lens. Not leaning to any one style or subject but taking pictures of pretty much anything and everything really. -- even had a go at my brother in laws wedding!! Ah well I'll take a good look around now and start posting soon (when i work out how to that is). All the best, Dennis.

Hi, zulu! Welcome to Phototique, it is great to see a new face among us, figuratively speaking!
I've been at digital photography myself since the summer of 2008, but I have much to learn even now. I myself just purchased an Olympus e-420 and I'm loving it, although seems like with it I've done worse than I was doing with the point-and-shoot! I cannot wait to see your own work, you've had six years' experience so that would be something good!
Again, welcome to the forums! Hope to see you posting a lot whenever possible! =)

This month we congratulate Kai with one of his bicycle shots as the Photo of the Month! Many people commented and loved the photo, and so did the staff!
Our contest of Beginnings was won by MarianMurdoch, who captured the miracle of new life. Life is an awe-inspiring thing as it is, but her photo truly portrays that beauty. Congratulations!

I sent him my dA account and also uploaded some of my better pictures I've taken at various events over the years for him to take a look at. He got back to me yesterday and he said we would be in contact about me going to Raleigh, North Carolina and Denver, Colorado this year and possibly more events! I'm super psyched right now!

As everyone knows, the end of March concluded our FIRST EVER Community Project! It is being left open until the end of Easter Sunday due to some requests and my own tardiness in everything, so if you still want in you have just over 24hrs to do so! Remember, these are going onto our website! There’s some great imagery in there already, so please don’t be afraid to add yours to the mix as well.

I never imagined that when I started this forum, I would get a job that totally screwed me up to the point that I barely even had time for the internet... but here I am with such a job and it's driving me insane. I really hope everyone can forgive me for my lack of activity and in performing my admin duties.

It's certainly something that is a possibility. I totally understand what you mean. On the other hand though, it makes over-exposed images seem even more blown out. If I ever find an awesome coder like I want, and a graphics person, my goal is to actually have different schemes that people can choose from so that if you want dark, you go dark. If you want light, go light; ect...
