I had the fleeting moment In July '08 to take photos of the USS Potomac, Franklin Roosevelt's Presidential Yacht. This is a digital darkroom piece I made.

I remember seeing the original photograph, and it looks so much better like this. The water still bugs me a bit for some reason, but the res of it is great. Could definitely see this hanging on someone's wall.

Tell me about the water. When I printed this the water was green! I realized it was my mistake and quickly fixed that up. I didn't make any adjustments, though. Just painted over a specific layer mask. Should I adjust the water colour?

I feel like it needs to be more smooth, or blue, or something.

The image takes you straight to the backdrop graphics and not to the Yacht which is the subject of the image. The yacht seems to vanish into the colours of the backdrop as well; the amount of white in the backdrop has taken away the outline and focus of the main target. The water seems fine and is in keeping with the retro/age of the Yacht; the kind of water in a poster you would have seen in a image from that era.
