Hello there, and welcome to Phototique. I figured that since it's always nice to get to know each other, you all probably wouldn't mind a quick introduction to get to know me.
My name is Samantha, and I've been practicing photography since my junior year of highschool. I went on from highschool to study at the Hallmark Institute of Photography, and while I was unable to graduate due to circumstances, I still absorbed a wealth of knowledge that I am slowly sharing with the world. This forum is just one of the ways that I plan on doing so.
When I'm not playing with my camera, you can find me practicing martial arts and weapon forms of all types, reading, making failed attempts at drawing, hanging with my friends, and watching my anime and reading my manga. I'm a total Japanophile, and I love to study their rich tradition and and culture.
I live in the middle of nowhere NY, so I've grown up with nature and as such have a great love for it. You will find a lot of my photography is outdoors because it makes a great backdrop, and when it's not snowing or raining, I love to be out there.
That covers the basics. ;D
So welcome to my pet project, I hope you enjoy it here!

Hi Saknika or ハローSaknika <<-- Google translate lol; don't know if it right. And hi to everyone else.
I am a total novice when it comes to photography, my Casio Exilim E-XZ1000 and I have a love hate relationship and are in need of a counseling to point us in more or less the right direction. I guess I could be classed as a happy snaper hoping to get that great shot. I think I need to invest in a camera that I can have more manual control over, but money is not something that is easy to come by these days. I have had two digital cameras for approx 9 years, the Casio being my latest and my lack of skills with a camera have brought out another skill (But not an expert) that has built up over a number of years due to my lack of photographic expertise, which is photo repairs; although I have not done this for some time now, I have recently decided to start doing it again. It is rewarding when you see a persons face light up when you have done a restoration of there grandparents or somebody close; and even more rewarding when you see a tear roll down there face at the same time, a sad moment you might think but it's the effect when there memories flood back but happy ones and happy tears of seeing someone kind of brought back to life.
I used to do martial arts but that was a long time ago; probably do myself an injury now lol.
I live in a town called Doncaster in the county of South Yorkshire U.K. There are pleanty of areas I could go and shoot some stuff but my time seem to be taken up by doing things for others lol; think I need to see to it that changes.
Regards ~ enigma-rose A.K.A Ian.
