It depends on the pony, really, but this one has so much energy it's amazing. We can not ride her for months so she gets almost no exercise and is totally out of shape, then hop on her and gallop around for two hours and she doesn't even break a sweat. Of course, we wouldn't put anyone over like 130 lbs on her, but considering me and the other three who ride her are all teeny tiny, we're safe to ride her.
