12 Dead after Shooting on Army Base

FORT HOOD, Texas— An Army officer opened fire Thursday with two handguns at the Fort Hood military base in an attack that left 12 people dead and 31 wounded. Authorities killed the gunman and apprehended two other soldiers in what appears to be the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base.

This is disturbing in and of itself to me, but what bothers me more is the significance of the day. Today is November 5th, a day when in UK history treason was stopped. Guy Fawkes was working under a man who wanted the Parliament and the king dead, and almost succeeded. But he was captured and killed.

To have this happen on an Army base today... I can't help but draw conclusions.

I read this on my iPod in my drawing class and told everyone about it. It's rather shocking. The shooter is reported to be alive so at least we'll be able to find out what the motive is.

Far as I've heard they shot the shooter dead.

He's alive. I have a friend that has inside information. He was stationed at Ft. Hood and still has friends there...although who knows if his information is correct or not.

Yeah, recent reports are saying he's on some sort of life support now as well. Either way though, he'll end up executed for what he did, I'm sure.
