I think this is probably one of the best things I've done all year (hooray birthdays!), and I recommend it to everyone out there who is really serious about photography. I know it's going to make a big difference in the retouching I do, and make it a lot easier to judge how much to brighten/darken/contrast/ect my photos.

for the VERY FINAL SURPRISE, welcome Marian Murdoch to our staff team! I contacted her probably well over a month ago, asking if she wouldn’t join the staff team here on Phototique, and after what must have been some long deliberation, she has decided to take me up on the offer. Actually, she decided before the end of March, but I chose to wait until the beginning of April to release this information and welcome her to the team. So say hello to your newest moderator! She’ll be helping you out with you digital creations, and working with us in Critique as well. Marian has a lot of knowledge that she’s willing to share, if you’re just willing to listen. So ears open and pencils out! It’s fun time!

the little story behind that section, but I think it came out for the best. And thank you greatly to my staff for selecting my photograph! It doesn't happen often, and I appreciate it a lot.
A big congratulations to Lauren MKS as well for winning the contest! It was a close, close contest, and I was very worried when I initially looked over all the entries that it would end up a tie. It almost did. You guys are fantastically creative photographers, and I can't wait to see what you all come up with next!

I really love the color and light play on this. Just can't decide if I really love or hate that bridge. It has great lines to it, but I feel like the picture could also stand alone without the bridge there. I can tell it's going to be a love-hate relationship between me and that bridge.

Thanks ^.^ yea someone else on a different site said the same thing about the bridge, but it's kind of in a place that makes it hard to just remove it. I took this at work so I really couldn't go explore my options, but when it warms up I plan on doing more.

Whatever opinion someone has about that bridge, in my opinion it's a master piece whether it has any end or no. If we will remove the bridge from the picture then it will left a void that will be hard to fill.

Good afternoon.Good job with Photoshop but I'd like to give one advice for future. When you work in the channel panel (Channels) on a separate channel, by default Photoshop displays the current state of the channel in shades of gray in a document. And if you make any changes in this channel, then in the document window you can only see how the change affects this channel. How the image itself changes, you do not see. However, there is a little-known trick that allows you to see a full-color image even when editing a single selected channel. Immediately after you select one channel in the channel panel, simply press the tilde key (~), which is located directly above the Tab key on the keyboard, and you will see the full RGB image display.
